This Saturday, I read an article in a local newspaper and I was shocked by the way that big artists nowadays working and I'll explain:
in this article was said that almost all great and popular artists don't even touch a brush and a paint, instead they are pay to painters to do the painting for them while the painters sitting and drinking coffee, after the painters done they put their signature on the painting as it's theirs, not just that, they say , and I quote," it's much better to mix salad than a paint and the important thing is the idea".
It was a long article, but this was the main theme.
I must say that I knew of that kind of help that the artists get from others, but not to that ridicules point when they do nothing at all.
If we will take movies or big sculptors or songs I will understand the need for other people in order to make the art successfully done, but when painter getting rich and can afford paying other people to do his gob: where is the art?? Is it lost with money? Is the painting process become less important than the signature??
I can't understand that , when I see a great painting I impressed with the idea , with the technique , with the talent and then I see the name of that artist and I immediately admire him/her because of that qualities , but if I will know that all of that done by somebody else I would like to know by who? Because that person deserve that admire, not the signature on the painting.
I know that many classical and old masters done that and it's sad!
All the point is enjoy and create your art isn't it?
If you have a good idea and you don't want to mess your hand then do it in Photoshop, don't call yourself a painter!
